License
Gephi Desktop is free, open-source software, dual-licensed under the CDDL 1.0 and the GNU General Public License v3. Where a choice of GPL versions is offered, the project elects to use GPLv3 only. The full texts are in thesource repository.
Gephi Lite, the web version, is free, open-source software under the GNU General Public License v3. Its source code is in the gephi-lite repository.
You can use Gephi Desktop and Gephi Lite for commercial and non-commercial purposes at no cost, and build applications on top of the Gephi Toolkit without opening your own code. If you modify Gephi's own source files and distribute the result, you must publish those changes under the same license terms.
Privacy and GDPR
This website
gephi.org does not use cookies or JavaScript trackers. To measure visits, we use a Matomo tracking pixel hosted by OuestWare, which collects page, browser, referrer, and IP address data (with IP addresses anonymized by truncating the last two bytes).
Gephi Lite
Gephi Lite runs in your browser. The graphs you open are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers. Your preferences and, if you connect, your GitHub session are stored in your browser's local storage. To measure visits, we use a Matomo tracking pixel hosted by OuestWare, which collects page, browser, referrer, and IP address data (with IP addresses anonymized by truncating the last two bytes).
Signing in with GitHub is optional. It lets you save and open graphs in your own GitHub Gists, with requests relayed through a proxy to work around browser restrictions. Gephi Lite does not send crash reports.
Gephi Desktop
Gephi runs entirely on your computer and does not send your data anywhere. The one exception is error reporting: when Gephi encounters an error, it can send a report to our Sentry account. Reports contain application logs only, with personal information such as the username removed. Sending reports is optional, and all tracking can be disabled in Gephi's Settings.
Security
Gephi Desktop only works with local files and does not connect to the web, apart from optional crash reporting. Gephi Lite runs in your browser and keeps your graphs on your device. Our security policy covers supported versions, how releases are secured and plugin safety.
To report a vulnerability in Gephi Desktop or Gephi Lite, email [email protected]. For Gephi Desktop you can also report it privately on GitHub.
Accessibility
Our accessibility conformance report (VPAT) will be published here.
