Runs a proxy server and collects data from your web browsing to generate a graph!

*** This plugin should be digitally signed! ***
Start the plugin by selecting Generate/HTTP Graph from the File menu.
All you have to do is configure the proxy setting in your browser for http://127.0.0.1:8088 (or a port of your choosing) .. If you are behind another proxy, you should be able to enter it in the 'chain proxy' setting.
** Don't forget to disable this setting in your browser when
** you're done or your browsing won't work!

The plugin makes Gephi freeze on my machine. I use Gephi 0.8 beta and latest plugin version available from Gephi plugin repository.
As soon as I select Generate/HTTP Graph, the spinning circle of death (I’m on a Mac) appears.
I tried to disable my firewall, tried to change the proxy port but nothing worked. Any idea?

Hmmm.. I haven’t run into that. It does start up a force atlas layout when it starts, which can use a lot of CPU, but your situation sounds more involved than that. There is usually a .gephi/dev/var/log/messages file created in your home directory when you run Gephi that can have some information in it. I will give it a shot on my mac today and see what happens, though.

What version of your plugin works with GEPHI 0.7 and 0.8

You should be able to install it in Gephi 0.8 through the plugin menu in the UI which should be version 1.0.3. For Gephi 0.7, I believe version 1.0.2 will work.

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as Philippe. After I select Generate/HTTP Graph, the spinning circle of death appears. I am on Mac, too.

Hi,
The plugin is installed and activated:

net.phreakocious.httpgraph/1 [1.0.3 3 111009]
Impossible to get in the menu “File/Generate/” httpgenerate..
Product Version: Gephi 0.8 beta
Java: 1.6.0_26; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 20.1-b02
System: Ubunu 11.10 Linux version 3.0.0-15-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (gephi)
i continue to search a solution. Any idea is welcome…. Eric

I’ve tried several times to reproduce the problems mentioned by Phillipe, Tomaz, and Eric, but have not been successful. The closest I have come has been when not selecting File/New Project prior to starting the plugin from File/Generate/HTTP Graph … If anyone else is having similar problems, please post them here.
If anyone has any feature enhancements, those would be interesting to see as well!

Great plug-in, works like a charm
My feature request would be: Is it somehow possible to turn the labels for URI on and off ?

As requested, you can now select the visibility of each type of node’s label when launching the plugin. I changed uri to resource to better reflect what it is.
