[gephi-announce] Welcome and Gephi 0.7 alpha release

Dear subscribers, thank you for joining this mailing-list. You will be
notified when new versions are released and important announcements.

Gephi 0.7 alpha has been released today and you can download it and
try it now. It is easy to install and works right out of the box – and
it’s open-source and free.

The version released today is an alpha version and is intended to
features and usability testing. We need you to test it and give us
maximum feedback. Report issues on our bug tracker or through the
Alpha/Beta section on the forum. A special thread
(http://forum.gephi.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7) has been created for
gathering a team of Gephi testers, please consider joining us. That
will help you connect with others users and share knowledge about
Gephi and graphs visualization in general.

The Gephi website has been redesigned, and is now the perfect tool for
the community. It has a plugin portal, where plugin makers can
register and publish their own plugins in the platform in less than 5
minutes. We also made the website easier for users to find all the
info they need and created a wiki, where documentation will be
available. We welcome all feedbacks and suggestions on that too. If
you are new or have a question and are not sure where to start, begin
with the forum.

In the next 100 days, we will work on 0.7 beta version, fill our wiki
with much documentation, tutorials for plugin development and other
materials.
